About IB Math Lab

Alessandro, who founded IB Math Lab, is an aerospace engineer from TU Delft. With a team at DelftPrep, Alessandro has helped 500+ final-year students prepare for their exams.

One-to-one results. IB Math students Alessandro has tutored one-to-one have moved from 3 to 5, 4 to 6, 4 to 5 and 5 to 7. These are one-to-one tutoring results, not results of the intensive.

8 weeks, Monday to Friday, 90 minutes a session: 40 live sessions and 60 hours in all. Each week has three teaching sessions, where new material is worked live on a shared whiteboard, and two lab sessions, where the students do the practice on their own boards while the teacher follows their boards and steps in where it goes wrong.

A group has up to 8 students and keeps the same teacher for all eight weeks. There is a marked diagnostic in week one, a short progress report to parents every two weeks, and two full mock papers in week seven, returned marked. Teaching sessions are recorded for the group.

The first week is fully refundable. The programme week by week.

The course is taught by IB Math teachers, and teachers are hired against a written bar. A teacher has taught IB Math AA, as a school teacher, as an IB examiner or moderator, or through at least two years of one-to-one IB tutoring with grade movements they can name.

Every candidate gives a paid trial lesson on the shared whiteboard. It tests what the course depends on: explaining so clearly that a parent could follow, and catching a student’s mistake while it is being written and correcting it without embarrassing the student. A reference from a school or a family they have taught comes after that.
